Thousands of footballers pass through our lives without us even noticing. Perhaps they manage to achieve a season or two in the limelight before departing and leaving us with the merest charicature of who they really were. They Also Served is an attempt to reconstruct the biographies of some of recent English football’s half-remembered names.
